I picked this novel up on a whim. I am so glad that I did! The cover screams The Walking Dead but it is nothing like either the graphic novels or show. Mr. Koloniar has developed a realistic world with well-thought out possibilities of post world destruction and survival. Thank you, Sir, for taking the time and effort to write such a fascinating novel.

Well, before I start critizing it, I should say I couldn't put it down; the author did a fair job of creating a world-wide situation and developing the characters. However, his geography and science were a little shakey. I don't think that when the meteor is 88 days out (by my calculation 232 million miles) the scientific community would have any certainty that it would hit Earth, let alone know that it would strike land and not water. Interstate 25 wouldn't get more difficult north of the Arizona border, it's an interstate between New Mexico and Colorado. When searching for medical supplies only found in largish cities and Lincoln, Nebraska doesn't have it, I assume you would go to Omaha or Kansas City next, not Topeka. It also seems a given that in every disaster scenario, the person that discovers the imminent disaster also happens to be one of the few survivors, usually not due to any prior planning or even skill. The author seems to dwell on (exclusively heterosexual) rape and cannibalism more than might be the case. I think everyone underestimates the diversity of responses and situations that would occur in a real situation, assuming that the majority of the survivors' M.O. would include those two things is unrealistic.

Four military men learn that a gigantic meteor is going to devastate the Midwest. and decide to take an old military facility and a selected number of young women and their children (no other men), to locked inside for a matter of two years after the disaster, so they can continue humanity. They stock food, books, toys, and weapons and gather the women and children, to settle down for the long haul. The meteor does hit and creates havoc across the USA and the world... It seems to be going along pretty well, until circumstances forces them to leave the protection of their facility and head across the western states. which are filled with staving people show will eat anything, including, you guessed it, them.
The book was well written story, which seemed very logical. I would read it again.

I have read a few of the "End of WORLD" books. But this one
kept my attention and I could not put it down. Action and
a great ending.
