Published in 1967, I would describe this as Mary Stewart âlightâ. Really light, actually... Our heroine Elaine takes a cruise to the Canary Islands after dumping her fiancé. A woman she recognizes on the cruise flees from her and is later found murdered on the island. Of course there's romance - most of the book is taken up by Elaine being courted by various gentlemen. Not a classic but it only took 90 minutes to read.
