About halfway through this book, I was a bit bored and thought I'm going to swap this one right away without sharing with my friends. Then, all of a sudden, the story takes a twist and I couldn't put it down. It all comes together in the end and I fell in love with this author all over again. Such touching stories - characters you love, a few tears at the end -- Perfect! I'll be sharing with my friends before swapping this one out.

An easy summer read with more story than I actually expected. Then Came You starts off a little slow and a little confusing. It individually tells the story of four women:

** India, the trophy wife who develops into a much more likable character than that title would suggest.

** Bettina, the daughter who has had to survive the abandonment of her mother.

** Jules, who is trying to reinvent herself while hoping to saving her addict father.

** Annie, a not-wealthy mother of two, trying to make life better for her family.

The book does come together though. In the end, the book is about family and love and how family and love can come in different shapes, sizes, and ways. An overall enjoyable read.

Told from the viewpoints of four different women whose lives are intertwined by the choices that each one makes, this book started out a little slow. Once you get to know each woman it becomes nearly impossible to put down.

While the "happily ever after" doesn't come in the traditional way for anyone, everyone appears to get one in the final few chapters.

Another great story by Jennifer Weiner. A story with women at the center and the issue of bearing child - whether the inability or the women who help those who can't, I felt that this book was a great tribute to how women can create communities with very little in common. With each chapter based on a different character - it was easy and enjoyable to get to know each one and then see their stories mix and mingle.

A topic that is still working on becoming acceptable as conservation - infertility and everything that is involved in it. Suragocy, egg donation and the inability to have children is the center of each of these women's stories and I have always be intrigued by this subject that women have to deal with it on a daily basis. Some women worry that their significant other may leave them if they can't have children and some have worries when it comes to trying to help. I think this is a topic that we should continue to talk about because with each conversation the stigma will slowly diminish and women can feel more confidant in the decisions that they may have to make to create a family.

Without spoiling too much, there was one part of the book that my conservative friends and followers may not be too keen on. If you are one of those - please keep reading, the whole of the story is way more impactful while bypassing one part.

Another bestseller from Jennifer Weiner that will be enjoyed by women of all ages.

Another great read by Jennifer Weiner. This one was a little slow to start out, but picked up speed about halfway through. She wraps everything up nicely at the end and shows that kids can thrive in not-so-conventional families. A beautiful story.

Jennifer Weiner is one of my favorite authors. I was a bit disappointed with this book though. It was slow and boring about 3/4 the way through. Definitely not my favorite from her.

This was a very interesting read that kept me turning pages. Made me think about the various aspects of surrogate motherhood from the perspective of all those involved.

This was an interesting story. There was a woman looking to have a baby by surrogate, and college student looking for money by donating her eggs, and a struggling housewife willing to carry a baby. This is the story of each of them and how they all came together.

Another good read by Jennifer Weiner. Well written story of four women who's lives become intertwined due to the creation and birth of a baby. Good bathtub or beach read.

This book is about 4 women and how their paths cross. Jules is a student at Princeton, who just needs a little money to help her father. Annie is a housewife that just wants to help her family get over a financial hurdle. Bettina comes from privilege and is looking for something more than money, she is looking for a family. India is just looking for a way to put her past behind her and to live on easy street. Each of them get what they want but not the way they thought.

I never read the back of the books so I never know what the story is about. From the title I thought it was about a girl that finds her soulmate. I started reading it and did not like it. I just could not get into the characters. The first girl that was introduced, Jules, then came Annie and Bettina by the time I got to India, I was hooked.
