Overall, David Sedaris is a funny and witty individual. I enjoyed this book. I love the beach house theme. However, where do I begin? I was initially impressed with this author's work. I would like to say page 123 changed my perception to not being a fan of this author's book. On page 123, the comparison used ââ¦working like Negro portersâ¦,â is uncomfortable, unnecessary and unacceptable in today's literature. I tried to let it go, but, it truly bothered me. Period! I am just plan outright offended by the comparison. It's not okay. There are many other situations the author could have used for comparison that would not insult an entire cultural group.
