When Meg comes to Texas for her best friend Lucy's wedding, she meets Lucy's perfect fiancé Ted. Lucy is perfect, Ted is perfect and their relationship seems perfect, but Meg picks up on something that feels wrong. She discusses all this with Lucy the night before the wedding and then on the day of the wedding, Lucy calls it off and runs off. Tthe doubts that Meg confronted her with have been plaguing her for a while. But in Wynette, Texas, Ted is the local hero/God and they all blame Meg for him being left at the altar and for his broken heart.

Circumstances beyond Meg's control leave her stranded and broke in Wynette. While she tries to make enough money to get out of town, the folks of Wynette and Ted himself take pleasure in tormenting the outsider. Their antics and attitudes both frustrated and humored me.

I loved this book. I laughed out loud and shed a few tears. Reading this book was like visiting with old friends you haven't seen in a while, yet feeling like no time has passed. I have been 1/2 in love with Teddy since he was a brilliant and awkward little boy in Fancy Pants and I fell completely in love with the man that little boy has grown into. Catching up with favorite characters from my favorite SEP books was fun and I loved every minute of it. Meg is crazy and quirky and the perfect match for the reliable Ted; Ying and Yang.

I can't wait to read Lucy's story as SEP promises it is in the works. I hope it is as charming as this one was.

If you love SEP books, you won't be disappointed. It's fun to watch the romance evolve between 2 flawed but lovable characters. Bringing back lots of characters from previous novels is an extra treat, especially Ted's parents, Francesca and Dallie Beaudine from Fancy Pants. It stands alone though, if you haven't read Fancy Pants, Lady Be Good, and Glitter Baby. The plot has romance, mystery, and humor while dealing with very current political and economic issues like the economy and environmental waste. Hard to put down from the very beginning, this feel good story is a perfect escapism and has hysterically funny dialogue and great sexual tension. Loved it!!

Warning. Couldnt stop but for work. Read his book in 10 hours. Loved the Meg character, felt indignation for her, but wish Ted was drawn out more in the first 2/3rd of the book.

What a wonderful addition to my Susan Elizabeth Phillips collection. I enjoyed the premise of the perfect man and the bad girl who wants to mess him up a little bit so that he will be true to himself. This story has it all: romance, sly humor, mystery and sexual tension. I have to admit Ms. Phillips is a secret addiction for me, I will put any book I'm currently reading down to read one of hers. I always get this contented feeling when reading one of her love stories. There is just something about the way she writes her characters that makes them more human and thus able for the reader to connect with them. I can hardly wait to read Lucy's story which is coming up next.

If you are fan of SEP's stories, you will likely enjoy this one. However, don't expect anything different or unique. It's your standard fair, down and out girl runs out of money, is humiliated over and over, yet uses grit and wits to survive, pretty boy love interest hates her at first, humiliates her as well, learns more about her, then falls in love. She's written essentially the same story several times in the past....but still, if you like that formula, this is a good story.

Many of the characters from former books appeared. I do not read SEP often enough to remember them all or what their stories were, but that was okay, I didn't feel like I need to go and pull out a previous book to follow.

Most of the book is written in Meg first person, and I do wish we'd had more of Teddy through out, but I did truly enjoy the ending.

Standard SEP fare. Enjoyable, but not something I'd every re-read.

Call Me Irresistible is the story of Teddy Beaudine who is all grown up. Readers were first introduced to Ted as the ugly, awkward child of Francesca and Dallie from the book Fancy Pants. But now Ted is all grown up and is about to marry Lucy Jorik, a woman with whom everyone believes is perfect for Ted, including Ted. Although much to everyone's surprise, Lucy leaves Ted at the Alter and everyone needs someone to blame. That someone just happens to be Lucy's best friend and maid of honor, Meg Koranda. Meg finds herself stranded in the small Texas Town of Wynette with no friends and no money and everyone including the mayor himself, Mr. Ted Beaudine is out for blood.

Once again Ms. Phillips has out done herself with another fantastic novel. Ted and Meg are great characters. I instantly loved Meg. She has this way of seeing straight to the truth of things at least for other people, but when it comes to herself she has always felt like she never measured up. In Call Me Irresistible she learns exactly what she is capable of, just how strong and smart she is and realizes she has plenty of self worth. She is the perfect counterpoint for Ted whose success comes so easy to him. His whole life he has been nothing but the golden boy. For once in his life, Meg is his first glimpse at having to work for something.

The drama of the town, Meg's presence and the difficulties she goes through in order to learn her lesson are all extremely griping and entertaining. I could hardly put the book down. I couldn't wait to see what outrageous thing would happen next. There is great dialogue, wonderful characters and an exciting conclusion. I loved it and would recommend it to fans of SEP or contemporary romance.

I am a HUGE fan of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and this one doesn't disappoint! It was a little hard to buy into the Ted/Meg attraction at first, but about 100 pages in, I was on board and rooting for them both. I was also a little overwhelmed at all the women in Wynette. There were SO many of them that I had a hard time keeping track of who was who. Otherwise...a hit! The little bit of mystery kept the pages turning and the scenes between Ted and Meg were tantalizing and exciting. Where are all the Ted's in the world!?

I read Lucy's story first which I didn't really liked but I loved Meg's story. She isn't someone you would like because she is really spoiled and irresponsible but she is so loyal and selfless at times. Ted did creep me out and I actually didn't like him through most of the book. He was really slimy in the beginning but Phillips does a wonderful job of slowly bringing him around.

Really fun book with lots of humor.
