This is the second book in a 2 book series. The first was this books hero's brother Rafe, in "Once upon A Dream". I own my copies of these 2 books and still want to reread. ThisWith a shadowy past and only dreams for her future, Meggie Bloom was tending the lost souls at Woodbridge Sanitarium when the handsome stranger's cobalt gaze awakened her to a woman's desire. Suddenly the mind-reading gifts that made Meggie an outcast deserted her. She couldn't read Lord Hugo Montagu, yet he haunted her dreams. Then he magically returned to offer her freedom--if she would become his wife....
Marriage was unthinkable for the notorious rake Hugo Montagu--until he lost everything on a bet. Meggie Bloom didn't know she was about to inherit a fortune. But he did. Nothing could have prepared him for the deep passions and surprising mysteries Meggie's innocence would unlock in him. But could an extraordinary woman's love transform him into a man of honor and make him worthy of a wife who could see into his soul, make him believe in the impossible and...
was even better than the first book although both are good stories.

Light and fun historical romance, which I would recommend for fans of the genre looking for a happy, easy read. The supporting characters are really good, especially Meggie's eccentric aunts! The description makes it sound darker than it is - I found this to be a sweet story.

The final book of the trilogy, but could certainly be read as a stand alone (I've read only #2 & 3 with no problems). Perhaps not quite as good as #2, but still a great read. Humor, hot romantic scenes. Yes, Hugo is petulant and irresponsible, but I still kind of like him... he is maturing towards the end. I wish there was another though to wrap up their story ... what happens next? Is he able to stay on the right track? Fun read!

Meggie Bloom knows little about her past. Because of her "unnatural ability" to read minds, Meggie is sent from the orphanage to work with the tortured souls at the Woodbridge Sanitarium. Meggie is content caring for those lost in the dark reaches of their minds, until the day she feels a stranger's eyes watching her and begins to understand the meaning of desire.
Though Lord Hugo Montague had been intrigued by the angelic young woman he saw at the sanitarium, thoughts of marriage are far from his mind, until he loses everything at the gaming tables. When he discovers that his sweet angel is an heiress he decides to marry for money.
Claiming to have fallen in love with her at first sight, Hugo convinces Meggie to marry him. He is an enigma to Meggie, the only person whose mind she cannot read. Believing in him and dreaming of love, a home and family, she accepts his proposal.
