i found this to be a very funny story about a guy from scotland that had visited the states once before as a member of a popular scottish band called the Bluebells. his friend from scotland founded a start-up dotcom company that was doing very well in silicon valley; san jose, california. the friend offered lawrence donegan a token job within his company providing he pack up his family(girlfreind and dog) and move to california. the job consisted of doing whatever, lol and receiving a huge check for his services. hobnobbing with the super-wealthy clic of young rich nerds with beautiful wives, wasn't donegans forte(????) lol but he DID decide that selling used cars was. if you ever lived or visited the san jose to san francisco bay area, hearing a scotchman describe and sterotype a lot of the various towns in between(such as los gatos, fremont, redwood city, and san jose itself) is very amusing as well as pretty accurate. lonny(lawrence) is a gifted funny writer with a very down-to-earth outlook on life and the world of used car salesmen, and customers that he became part of. i recommend this diamond-in-the-rough to be read by all not once but twice. charles nardi
