What a convoluted book. Lots of malarial information and history of the discovery of malaria, Indian names, obscure Indian towns, and Indian foods. Also, a lot of names - so many that it confused me who was who. It didn't even get interesting until 30 pages before the end. Lots left unexplained. I don't think the author knew what the plot of the book was.
