The Cage was a very interesting book. Kept my attention throughout. It is not a thriller and no edge of your seat excitement but interesting none the less. I liked the way she told her story of how she came to be on an assignment for a nature magazine to take still pictures of polar bears in the Arctic. The descriptions of the scenery and her life were vivid. My only problem with this book and the reason I only gave it 3 stars was the ending. I had the feeling that the book wasn't finished - like the last chapter had been left out. Did not regret reading it though.

This book is boring. There is no reason that I can find to read it unless your interests are artic nature/photography and then fine, you may enjoy it, for anyone else \who is interested in reading being enjoyable or suspenseful, this is not the book.

An interesting natural book about a wildlife photographer who accepts a challening mission to photograph polar bears-in their wilderness -up close-in a very small cage. The cage comes to represent her life previously as well as her mission. It also becomes a test of her natural wisdom. After a surpring turn of events Beryl faces the last test...
