I agree with the previous reviewer that this would have made a better short story. The back of from reading the back of the book, I got the impression that this story took place over a short time period. Instead, the premise is that they got snowed at the end of October and couldn't leave until New Year and they had no communication at all. This is very hard to swallow and feels very contrived. I can't believe that even somebody that is trying to get away from it all wouldn't have a satellite phone or a short wave radio for emergencies. Plus at least a snowmobile or some for of winter transportation and more winter clothes. Basically they are stranded in a cabin a bed, and not much else, including electricity. The book is 272 pages, which is probably 100 pages too long.
