This book deserves a much higher rating than it was given here. This is one hot book - and it is real - people do have emotions like these characters do!
Burning Up - a 2 star read. The story is a big disappointment, especially after reading (listening to the audio, actually) All Over You and Hot for Him by the same author. The plot was too predictable and cliche-ridden. A woman leaves a 14-year relationship after 1 discussion with her ex - and no emotion about it at all? The next day, suddenly she's hired to be a chef to a big movie star recuperating from a leg injury for a month in the country - just the 2 of them, all alone. Oh guess what, they're hot for each other right off the bat - there's perhaps a nano-second of "what am I doing" - and no real plot to either keep them together or force them apart. In fact, my mind kept wandering off, wondering who does her grocery shopping and whether or not there's a housekeeper, because I sure didn't care that much about him or her. She serves him bland, tasteless meals because he's on a diet - uh, isn't she a CHEF? Can't she make even low calorie meals that taste good? And she's just not his type in any way, shape or form - but somehow that makes him find her hot? In what universe?
There's a weak plot twist about his upbringing, and he predictably tries to break it off with her at the end by bringing in some groupies to - what? make her jealous? show her what his life is really about, what kind of women he really finds hot? or just because that's the only thing the author could think to do with a Hot Movie Star Hero and Average Woman Heroine? And then a weird last-minute scare to bring them back together - complete with saving an animal (where in the world did THAT come from?). Where was the witty dialog this author is capable of, the compelling plot lines? It wasn't awful, just boringly predictable.

Very excellent read...just like the original ones.
