An April Woo/Mike Sanchez mystery. Glass's characters really come to life, and the mysteries are intriguing.
Helpful Score: 1
In my opinion one of the better parts of this book is the portrayal of the differing psychologies facing Detective April Woo -- does she try to please her traditional Chinese family or make decisions based on New York City values.
Helpful Score: 1
Interesting peek at some Chinese cultural expectations and a good thriller. However I don't enjoy seeing into the minds of serial killers, so I didn't like it. Kind of like a Lisa Gardner book.
An outstanding debut novel.
I personally was quite disturbed by the story line. I admit it kept my attention and it was well written, but the story line was quite disturbing.
lots of twists and turns!
I enjoyed this one greatly.
Great Read.
An unstoppable serial killer hunted by a detective you'll never forget
The first book in one of my favorite series: Detective April Woo and the NYPD. She teams with psychiatrist Jason Frank to stop a serial killer. Having an Asian protagonist leads to cultural clashes, especially between April and her mother. Highly recommended.
I don't know where the 1 1/2 star review came from but I thought this was a really good murder mystery. Sick but quite good.
Book 1: April Woo Mystery Series
I actually never finished this one, but it looked good and was highly recommended to me years ago
