I really don't know how I managed to slog through this series - I'm stronger than I thought. Super-uber-macho men and and their insecure, helpless women who need to be rescued & pampered. Bleh. Of course, there is the totally evil bad guy, who gets what he deserves, and everyone has a happy, sappy ending. Oh, puhleeze. I love romance, & I really love good sex, but this is just a wannabee '50 Shades of Grey', and that series was just awful. Keep looking,'cause this isn't worth your time.
Note to author: using the f bomb as every other word does NOT make the dialogue more 'real' or intense. It cheapens the effect. I do not know any man of power or class (and yes, I do know a few) who lowers himself to express himself so cheaply.

Recommend that you read this series in order; you will appreciate it more and the third books ties so closely to the first two you will miss a lot by reading it out of context. Maya Banks writes hot, hot, hot erotica but always with a wonderful story. Her historical novels are just as great. What a talented author!

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series so I was really looking forward to the release of this book. As far a the plot, characters, the story was good. I enjoy Maya's books very much and am a fan. That said, I really felt I had to push through in order to finish this book. My major problem with the book was the way the male characters, ALL male characters spoke in this book. Almost every time any of the men spoke, the sentence was missing prepositions. After a while, it really started to get on my nerves. I started adding, "I, you, me", to the sentences in my head just so I could finish. I get that these characters are dominate, but every word they speak doesn't need to be written as a command. It was really hard to get past. That said, the story is really good. I enjoyed catching up with the characters from books one and two. Someone else mentioned that they would have liked to have seen more development on the relationship with Ash's family and I agree. His family relationship did not end in a nice little bow. However there could possibly be a story about his sister so the family story could continue.

This one was the funnier one in the series, love the "Girls' Night Out" scenes. There is a lot of parallel between this one and "Fever," the second book of the series.

Again Bank does a really good job explaining the master/servant relationship and the S&M scene. She really emphasizes the power of the submissive and in this one she even show a not so good master/servant relationship as comparison.

I liked that Josie was much more established as a person and was already dipping into that lifestyle. I also like the extra relationship you get with Kai and Brittany (Ash's sister).

Good, sexy read.

I had a good feeling about this book, but it was kind of a let down. I thought that the story would focus more on Ash's family. It did not. It was unoriginal and the romance was a total rip off of book 1 & 2. Kinda lame if you ask me. Too may things were over explained. Did the author think that the reader didn't get it the first three times she explained the characters feelings, motivations or thoughts? Book 2 had the best story IMO.
