Another great read in the Eve and Roarke saga. Robb never disappoints. Highly recommend you read the series from the beginning however. First is Naked In Death.

I like all of these "in Death" books. The characters stay fresh and the storyline is always good. I've been collecting them for years.

Hmmm... The writing style kinda resembles J. D. Robb but not quite gritty or terse enough (dialog). The difference was enough to bother me while reading the book. However, I guess I am getting used to the multiple personalities that are ghost writing her recent "In Death" books. Interestingly, the short stories are still flavored J. D. Robb.

That aside, the story line was interesting as we get to know the Mira family considerably better than before. The cast of characters narrows down to Dallas, Roarke, Peabody, the Homicide squad, and the Miras, with brief appearances by MacNab, Feeney, the upper brass, Nadine, and Summerset.

This is definitely not the book as the intro to this series. The pacing is uneven. The most humorously quirky sidekicks are NOT present, much less Bella (who's turning one!). Dallas has really mellowed since the first ten books (which was part of what made her such an fascinating protagonist).

It not so badly written that I gave up on this series. But this is definitely not one of the keepers for me.

As always I enjoyed Brotherhood in death. I've started reading the series from the beginning and looking forward to each and every book. Brotherhood does not disappoint...always a good read and keeps me interested in the up and coming.

Another good one in the "In Death" series. I love this series and re-read them all (in numeric order -- including the 'tweens) about once a year -- or whenever a new one comes out.

Unusual plot and crime(s) this time, which was a nice change. Unfortunately it still contained the obligatory lovemaking scenes between Eve and Roarke, which I wish Robb would leave out. If I wanted to read a romance, I'd buy a friggin romance novel. At least she hasn't made Eve pregnant yet, but I'm sure she'll get around to that, which will forever end my love of these books. And, as usual, we have to hear all about Eve's childhood and the killing her father. If you've read all of the other books in this series, it gets tiresome. What I DO love about these crime dramas is how it's set in the future. I like reading about the futuristic weapons, technology, appliances, etc. It spices up the traditional crime/police procedural book.

I was not disappointed by #42. I love all the characters & Nora has never failed to entertain me from page 1 to the end.
