I really liked this book. It is not the optimistic type of book that Charles Sheffield normally writes, but it is his fine writing. And in its own way, it is optimistic. I was impressed, especially considering the state of the world today. He wrote this in 1992, and it seems like a possible future, at times.

This book is worth reading, even for those who "dislike" this genre.
