This is the third story about Everett Hitch and Virgil Cole in the wild, wild west. This story is just as entertaining as the first and has a nice resolution to it. The dialog rings truer here than in some of Parker's other books lately, which have his 3 leads seeming all to talk using the same expressions and sentence syntex. Of course we have Allie again to stir things up. One thing that bothered me, without giving too much away - he never paid Pony for his loyalty and services. I mean the man had to eat and keep a room! Perhaps payment is assumed by the reader.
Another good Parker read.

Good western story, good sharp dialogue that makes you relate to the western days and the cowboys.
I am enjoying the series with Cole and Hicks, Brimstone is a good read like the first two. I enjoy the dialogue between Virgil and Everett, but find that the books are getting a little cookie-cutter'ish. Somewhat like the western films of the 40's and 50's. Identify bad guy, save innocents, and so on. Didn't stop me from ordering book 4 though.
