This book was one of the best books I have ever read. A modern day, multi-generational Southern saga with many interesting characters - and the historical fiction regarding the textile mill strikes was a part of history I knew nothing about and was conveyed through this book in such a way such that the time, place, and circumstances of the strike events are really "brought alive."
