A good Ruth Rendell story, well plotted, weaving in and out of several lives and story lines, yet all joined together at last. NOT a Wexford novel

This book stayed with me for a while after I finished it. Ruth Rendell describes the characters personalities so vividly through details of their clothes and their disturbing thoughts that it is hard to get them out of my mind. This one and A Sight for Sore Eyes are my favorite Rendell books.
