Really good; the best one of the series so far (with at least one other to follow). Katherine was a complex yet endearing woman, but it was steadfast Hugo with his limitless and loving patience who won me over. Theirs was a childhood friendship turned marriage of convenience that grew into passionate love and unwavering trust. Sometimes, I wondered if Katherine would successfully shed her cold, secretive shell, but Hugo--wonderful, supportive Hugo--waited while she figured herself out. Romantic in every sense of the word. 4 stars.

An interesting and different style to this book. The heroine was so prickly and unlikeable for a good part of it, the author did a great job of having her believably become a better person.
The hero was so patient and easygoing, he was too good to be true. I must say, it was a page turner.
And the Penhallow family was great!
