I really enjoyed this Scottish historical romance book. It started off strong and keep up an eager pace right up to the ending.

The characters have very strong traits and Margaret Moore does a great job of describing them. The story is based in the wild highlands of Scottland where you have scottish clan's who are always fighting among themselves or the Normans. In this book, a Norman warrior has inherited some land among Scottish clans and he is in disperate need for funds. So he has set up a marriage deal for his sister (without her knowledge) to be wed to an elderly Scottish clan who is very powerful in the highlands.

At the same time, the MacTaran clan is having troubles of their own. There is great deceit and treachery being planned among the clan. Read the book to find out how this clan gets involved & just how far these plans go. You won't regret it. There are so many turns and twists which makes it so interesting.

Lady Marianne scarce dreamed it possible her life could get any worse!
That was before she found herself transplanted to the wild highlands of Scotland -- land of savage barbarians -- and the promised bride of a doddering old Scot. But when a boldly handsome warrior arrived at her door, she knew her prayers had been answered. . . .
Adair MacTaren had come in friendship, but one look at the comely lass standing before him addled the young man's mind beyond repair. The tempting Norman lady lured him like a siren -- yet he had no wish to be rescued. And 'twas no time before the brash chieftain's son had sworn to free Marianne from her loveless betrothal -- and claim her for his own ladywife!
