This novel has its faults, a tried and true storyline that feels like it's pieces of her other novels and the original ending was a bit abrupt. I'm a bigger fan of her historical novels but I have liked all of her contemproaries thus far but EBYT fell a bit flat for me. However, when the paperback was released, McNaught reworked the ending (I think due to the outcry from her fans that something wasn't right about it) and it flows MUCH nicer now and the ending is perfect. Still not her best work but if you are going to read this novel, make sure you read the paperback.

What this book boiled down to was a very detailed soap opera. From what the heroine was wearing and why she changed her clothes to the kind of wood in the conference room, the author stuffs the plot with minutae. The basic storyline was drama, drama, drama - the lovers fall madly in love in less than 48 hours, but she has to break up with her boyfriend of 4 years (4 years!!?!) Through a massive misunderstanding & lots of lies, they part, but she secretly has his love child. The child is kidnapped, and the lovers reunite & become a family. And, by the way, the hero was discarded as a child and has made himself into a multimillion dollar, handsome-as-sin super-powerful enigma. Somebody, please hand me a barf bag.

Kate Donovan is on a tropical island when she meets and falls in love with Mitchell Wyatt. Great story although it was a little predictable. Nice light contemporary romance with a small portion of suspense thrown in.

I am not really into romance novels, but I am a Judith McNaught fan. Until You and Perfect were my favorites until I read Every Breath You Take. This is her best contemporary novel yet, and Mitchell Wyatt is her best male character ever. If you're new to McNaught, save this one for last. Enjoy.

While this is not McNaught's best work, her writing is better than most other books. Probably the weakest part of the book is the abrupt ending. I did enjoy reading it in spite of that.

I loved this book so much that I stayed up very late to finish it. It is a good escape and a great tale of true love.

Part mystery, part romance, but it's all good. Even my husband, who typically goes for more masculine stuff, read and enjoyed the book.

This book was ok. It was a little drawn out and very perdictable.

Venture into this story and you'll realize the author is a master of setting the stage for a major story. Characters reveal their depth very quickly, the plot is right there for the taking in the first few pages and the scenes advance with style and at a rapid pace. And yet, the book is long enough for a fast reader to enjoy several sittings. A great read. A romance with lots of trepidation and guilt and fate and a glorious ending after a bit more suspense.
I can't wait to get another one of her books.

Every Breath You Take was a quick enjoyable read. It was not one of my favorite Judith McNaught books. I was glad to see some of the characters from her other books mentioned and I liked the story, I also liked Kate and Mitchell. A few things I didn't like was that it seemed to sag in the middle and then the ending was abrupt, I wish there would have been more at the end, I felt like I missed something. I would recommend that Judith McNaught fans read this book. It's not her best one ever, but it will make you smile.

Unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and riveting suspense.

A tightly drawn very romantic romance encompassing love, lust, murder, and a touch of evil. This is a real page-turner.
Have always love Judith McNaught books. This one is no exception.
***Very good - many twists
i really enjoyed this one. Couldn't put it down.
I liked this book as a whole. I enjoyed the story line and was anxious to see how it ended but its' large time gaps and leaps into the future without logic made it difficult for me to grasp the story as reality sometimes. I suppose this is just a personal preference, but I like a story that flows so seamlessly that I believe it might be happening nextdoor. This was stilted and jerky in places. I did, however, enjoy it overall - I just had the feeling the editor made the author trim the story to fit onto less pages.
I have been a Judith McNaught fan for many years. This writing was not as good as her first books, but it was still good. I would read it again.
Wonderful story full of excitement and romance. Loved it.
Took me a little longer to get through but it was worth it. I liked the main characters and the storyline was well done.
Loved it!
paradise will never be the same...a wonderful read.
Good read by an excellent author.
I have absolutely enjoyed this book. I could not put it down.
I first started reading Judith McNaught during the period when I was reading straight romance. It is a pleasure to know that she can handle the suspense portion of the equation as well.
First Judith McNaught book I have read. I really enjoyed her writing style. Not overly sexual, just enough heat with a great story line.
OMG! McNaught did it again....I did not want to put this book down! A must read romance novel. Strong characters, great scenes, and funny and witty quotes.
This was a wonderful book. It was a Mystery with a lot of romance.
They met in paradise: Kate Donovan, the beautiful self-made Chicago restranteur, and Michael Wyatt, ruthless bussinessman, scion of the fabulously wealthy Wyatt family who Kate soon finds won't take no for an answer. During their idyll on the tropic island of Anguilla, Kate and Michael lower their defenses and surrender all inhabitions- slowly at first, then in a rush of emotions unlike anything either of them has ever known.
But their heaven crumbles when Michael is summoned home for questioning in the disappearance of his half brother. Amid a media firestorm, he retreats into his world of privilege and power, leaving Kate to question everything she knows about her darkly mysterious lover: Is he in fact the culprit in this high profile case? What secrets lay buried in his past and is someone trying to sabitoge their relationship?

A huge saga about a woman's fight to clear her lover from a murder charge.
I really enjoyed this book. Good love story.
Wonderful mystery and love story
Fast paced and good story.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a good story and I stayed up till midnight last night finishing it (which means I had 5 hours of sleep!) but it was worth it.

Well developed plotline. Easy-to-like characters.
Good book!
In my opinion one of the best romance authors out there, I have read all of her books.
Really enjoyed this one. Mitchell Wyatt is used to the world of the rich and jaded, and is surprised by the unique sincerity and charm of Kate Donovan. He doesn't know if she is for real, and pulls information from her without providing any intimate background information about himself. He has learned not to give pieces of himself away, but she cannot be intimate with someone she does not know. They both take the chance, make mistakes, and learn to love.
High atop a snow-covered hill, the stately old Wyatt mansion is perched like a crown, its stone spires pointing upward, its stained glass windows glowing like colorful jewels. Such opulence means success and, surely, happiness. But on the eve of wealthy philanthropist Cecil Wyatts eightieth birthday, all the money in the world wont bring back his missing grandson, William Wyatt. The only thing for certain: Foul play was involved.
The family, the police, the mediaall have tried in vain to discover the young mans fate. Now suspicion has turned shockingly toward Williams own half-brother, the rather distant and enigmatic Mitchell Wyatt.
Kate Donovan never dreamed that a chance romantic encounter on a tropical island paradise would tag her as a suspect in a high-society murder case. But after Kate tangles with the darkly charismatic Mitchell Wyatt, she finds herself cast in a shadow of guilt and mistrust. As the Chicago police tighten their net, it will take all of Kates ingenuity to clear her name. With her calm, cool wit, and the help of a man who may or may not be a dangerous catch, Kate vows to claim the life and love she desires.
