Not my favorite Sears book, but if you're new to breastfeeding and don't have a lot of support, this is a good, all-around referrence book.

Very informative and a good guide for the first time breastfeeding mother. It effectively supports the mother's decision to breastfeed, championing her maternal instincts. What's more, it teaches several techniques and methods for positioning and increasing milk production.

Great book! So much useful and necessary information! I skimmed it before having my baby, not really sure what anyone could po0ssibly say about breastfeeding that would fill an entire book. She is my first, so I had no experience in what questions I would have once we started breastfeeding. But after she was born, I have used the book a lot. Almost every question you could ask is answered in the book. Of course, not everything is treated exhaustively, so some questions may be answered in a brief format. My favorite thing is the treatment of the subject by the authors. Their focus is for the baby to be reassured and secure in their dependence on his/her parents every moment, and they give lots of helpful and useful advice on accomplishing that in your home.

This is an excellent book to read if you need to know about breastfeeding. I read it with both my first and second children and I have given it to numerous people as gifts. I highly recommend this to any pregnant women who intend on breastfeeding.
