This is one of the original swashbuckling heroes of the Sword and Sorcery genre spawned by the tales of Conan the Barbarian. In this book Brak, on his journey to fabled Khurdistan, must first traverse the desolate territory of the Manworn - a land gripped by terror of things unknown and awful- a land ravaged by the evil of Nordica Fire-Hair, the beautiful, hypnotic sorceress whose occult experiments include human sacrifice. Good escapist reading.
