I may not always agree with the things that Carlin says, but I always laugh at the he says it! This book is hilarious, but it's not for the easily offended. If you are put off by crude language, don't even bother cracking open the cover, but if you can handle it, this book will have you laughing almost from start to finish!

Interesting'ly Strange book. Lots of cursing in it, so if you sensitive to cursing, you probably won't want this book. I myself wouldn't of gotten it had I known. It'd be a great book if they didn't curse so much in it. That's just a big turn off to me.

Another great Carlin book. His take on life, liberty and the pusuit of happiness is hilarious and thought provoking. NOTE** If you are offended by coarse and/or vulgar language and sexual innuendos' DO NOt request this book.

Very funny. I read it twice. Sometimes I find him a little too unabashedly adolescent, but then he'll go and write something profound to make up for it. Very smart, dirty, comedy.

George Carlin was a funny guy, and this is a funny book. If you want to get reacquainted with "A Place for My Stuff" and "Baseball vs. Football" ... this is the book for you.

Be warned, though, that he is EXTREMELY PROFANE! ... A little profanity can add a humorous edge to comedy, but this book went too far in that vein (IMHO) ... I wish some comedians would realize that they can leave out the profanity and still be funny ...

George Carlin's sometimes cutting exploration of the idiocies he finds in our culture. ALways funny, often penetrating, and always a unique viewpoint that makes the reader think. A hell of a lot of fun.

I don't like most of Carlin's humor, so it's not surprising I didn't really like this book. The only reason I read it is because I read a different book by him, and it had some really good parts. (Interspersed in not so good). This one had a couple decent parts stuck in a lot of boring repetitive paragraphs. I think his humor is inversely related to the number of swear words he throws in the joke--he can be very funny, but usually he's just boringly crude and 'kill'm all'. That's not funny to me the first time, and definitely not as repetitively as it is in the book.

There are a couple sections which are funny. His discussions on names, for example, and the comparison between baseball & football. Also, the monologue on stuff starts out really really good (but goes on a bit too long). The book as a whole, however, was not worth the time to read. Those parts were not good enough to justify the waste of time on the rest.

I really his enjoy his humor. I just pick up this book and open any page and I laugh. He was a very intelligent man. He played on words alot. People say things like, I would not like to you in church. I asked them does this mean you would like to me outside church. Some people are offended because nothing is off limits to George. There are things in the book I don't like. That is ok, just move on to something else. Overall it is get to get a good belly laugh daily.

I absolutely loved George Carlin and his ability to work magic with words and phrases was phenomenal. Parts of this book had me laughing so hard my sides hurt, complete with tears of laughter. Just a great book to have for more insight into the way his creative mind worked.

A friend sent me this, knowing that I've never liked Carlin and hoping to better my opinion of him. Didn't work, this book only made me dislike him more.

Very funny and quite typical of George's style. He's not the least bit shy and tells it just as it "is"!! It's worth your time to read, if you have a "George Carlin" sense of humor. I loved it.

Anyone who knows of George Carlin knows the book will be laced with obscenities and his own far left opinions; but that is exactly what makes his books so entertaining:there is no pretense as to his feelings or opinions and he could care less who he offends. The layout of the book makes for a fast easy read. Moves at the same pace as his monologues.

Collection of one-liners, wordplay, and miscellaneous rants.

Carlin is at his best when contemplating the silliness of life, but the one-liners, the relentless curmudgeonism, and his determination to drop the F-bomb every other line make it all wear thin rather quickly.

The comedy of Carlin, what more?
