I am a fan of McFadden and I have enjoyed all of her books that I have read. However this one was the first I found to be quite predictable for me. And I wanted to shake some sense into the protagonist (both before and after events occurred). For someone who is a doctor she certainly needed to be smarter! There was also too much descriptive detail on a few things that I wouldn't recommend for the squeamish. I did like the ending though and I am sure I will continue to read whatever she comes up with.
After years of hard work, Dr. Charly McKenna finally has it all. Prosperous career as a dermatologist? Check. Spacious apartment overlooking Central Park? Check. Handsome lawyer husband? Double check. Then one night, a bullet rips through the right side of her skull and she loses everything. As Charly struggles to recover from her brain injury, she begins to realize that the events of that fateful night are trapped in the damaged right side of her brain. Now she must put the jigsaw pieces together to discover the identity of the man who tried to kill her... before he finishes the job he started.
This is another great book by Freida McFadden. It is a modern day romance more so than a psychological thriller. Charly is in the hospital recovering from her brain damage and meets Jamie, another brain damaged person. They have a relationship that is unique and different and really made it hard to put down this book. You really should read this book as I don't want to put any spoilers out there. It is a very touching story and I do hope you do pick it up and read it. Having said that, I am now looking forward to my next Freida McFadden book as I have read almost all of her books. She's great and I have enjoyed reading them. If you like a little bit of romance then you will love this book.
