I cannot emphasize enough how entertaining and engrossing this book is. He hits more than misses with these absolutely captivating tales, each one of which the reader can enjoy in one sitting.

I read this 13 years ago, and the story "Frost and Fire" has vividly stuck with me to this day. What if you belonged to a group of people who grew rapidly and who had a lifespan of only a few days?

And one image sticks with me - the image of a world where it has rained so long that all color has been washed away.

Highly, highly recommended for all short story or science fiction lovers!
