The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon was a breath of fresh air in my reading life. Featuring the tech industry and young Black characters, it was a welcome change to my usual fare.
The novel begins with a bang - Samiah Brooks is involved in a video that goes viral and brings unexpected people into her life. At the same time, her job at a large tech company gets much more interesting when a handsome new employee named Daniel joins her project team.
Thank you to Llbro.fm for the ALC of this audiobook. Overall, I enjoyed the narration by Je Nie Fleming, but there were times her excessive enthusiasm was off-putting and took me out of the story. I listened to this audiobook during long hours of tedious data entry at work, and I'm grateful it made the time pass much more quickly.
