Melvin spends most of his time at the library, learning things and paying attention to the librarians. They know everything or know where to find it. The story goes with Melvin wanting to know what bugs he caught, help with his baseball card collection, and finally college. At the end of the book, the three librarians aren't as young as they used to be, but Melvin has come back to the library as the newest librarian.

Why I recommend it: There are a lot of children who remember the library and can identify with Melvin. It emphasizes research and a love of information.
