This book, about a boy in a dress, funnily enough, was a wonderful way to pass an hour. It's a story with real characters (prejudices, quirks, sadness and all) and a boy who has the courage to be who he is, with a little encouragement and support from his friends to boot. A great book, David Walliams has done a good job on his first go-round as an author, even throwing a good-humored dig at "Little Britain". Quentin Blake's illustrations are a wonderful as ever. I hope Mr. Walliams writes again - and soon!
Absolutely loved this one! Sadly, I've been in a reading rut this whole year, but I'm happy to say this book was the cure! I laughed all the way through, with some sadness in the middle, and finished it in a day.
I whole-heartedly recommend it! Well done, Mr. Walliams!

Good read after you figure out what all the British things are. Basic message is it's ok to be who you are.
