The very first one that introduces the Boxcar children characters. I had stayed away from the books since I thought it was a new fad in books, but these are actually first copyrighted in 1942! Lots of good work ethic in them just worked into the fabric of the story.

Wonderful classic children's book. My 5th grade teacher read the series to my class, and it still ranks among my favorite childhood books. I have a copy of it in my library.

My son loves this series, this is the 1st one!
My children loved the simple reading this series offers. Great for a beginning reader.
One of my favorite books when I was a girl, The Boxcar Children was also a big hit with my children. Wonderful as a bedtime read-aloud or for children just embarking on reading chapter books on their own.

A favorite childhood story. This is the first in the series.
The boxcar children series were my favorite books as a child. This is the first book in the series (which includes over 50 others), and in my opinion the best.
