Quite a letdown from her previous books. She has been on "autobuy" for awhile now. But I think this book bumped her off that admittedly short list for me. It was wrapped up too quickly to be satisfying. I actually went back and re-read the ending as it was so baffling. I thought I had fallen asleep and just "thought" I had finished the book. Nope it was just that unmemorable and boring.

I tried to like this book but something was missing. Eli had the potential to be a stud but I found him lacking and Josie just boring. Warren tried to make it interesting with the sociopathic scientific notations after each chapter but I just found it to be jibberish. I stopped reading after page 150.

I hate to say this ... but I hated this book. I tried really hard to get through it - but kept putting it down. I have LOVED every other book in this series and was excited for this one to come out. But it was boring, had no real story, I didn't feel anything for either of the main characters and it had nothing to do with the other books. I did like the lab tech though! Maybe she could do a story about him. I will definetly buy the next one and hope the series gets back on track. Like I said I loved all of the others but this one just fell short for me.

Really really tried to like this book, but after 3 attempts to read it, i give up. I really loved the first ones in this series, but this one strays away from the core the series started with. Can't say it's a bad book, didn't read enough to judge. I just couldn't get into it.....it didn't captivate me.

This book was okay. Definitely wouldn't bother with it unless you get it from a library or something. There are areas where it is too detailed and dragged. It also ends really abruptly with the bad guys telling you all their master plans. It does seem like Warren got tired of writing the book and just slapped on an ending. The relationships between Josie and the Sheriff started out nicely but towards the end I'm not sure they resolved anything so it makes the ending even more unsettling.

Another great book, not to many characters to follow a great ending....a twist and suprise. I think she had the age of the sherriff somewhere in his twenty's but it seemed to me reading it he should have been a bit older for the things he knew and the situations and all but it is a great read treat yourself and enjoy!

I've really enjoyed The Others series right up until Born To Be Wild...I actually double checked just to ensure that I really was reading a Christine Warren novel...and yep I was. I'm unsure what happened but definitely not in the same category as the first 8 in the series. A dud in my opinion.

Great read, lion shapeshifters, romance, mystery. I am a Christine Warren fan and was not dissapointed in the continuing Others saga.

Interesting story about shifters versus white human supremacists with a sexy love story included. However, the end is disappointing. It leaves you with the impression that someone forgot to finish the book.

This is only the second book by Warren that I've read, so I was less disappointed than other reviewers. I like visiting the world of the others, and Josie was a good heroine - likable, friendly, independent, and willing to go toe to toe with the hero. His take charge attitude was sexy while he was in his sheriff role and understandable in his lover's role. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series that sound even better than this one.

Good book but the ending seemed a little clipped. Always like this series. Fun easy read.

Good characters, plot with some twists but the end really didn't work for me. Set several years after the unveiling of the Others for those who have been following the series...

I loved this book, but I have found that this series was printed out of chronological order. I still love every book in the series, it just gets confusing.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews. I like Christine Warren, I've read most if not all that she has out. Her books can be hit or miss. This book was a bit of a let down. The beginning kept me interested I like Eli and Josie, but than it started to drag and the ending was very "clipped" to use another reviewers word. Bruce was the saving grace to this book, anyone who loves meatloaf is alright by me.

Interesting setup - what would today's skinheads do after the 'unveiling' of the 'Others' among us? Yeah, no surprises there - they have a brand new minority to hate. The hero, Eli, is a shifter and Sheriff of a small Oregon town populated with humans and others. The heroine, Josie, is the only vet in town. They meet over a wounded wolf - actually a Lupine in shifted form - Eli brings in. Since the human doctor isn't available she tackles the case but something is seriously wrong, the wolf is not healing or shifting like a Lupine should, she's not even waking up...

Good characters, plot with some twists but the end really didn't work for me. Yeah, they got the bad guys but how they were going to deal with the infection seemed very unresolved... Maybe rate it a 3.5 because of that...

Josie Barrett is an "animal" doctor and today she is faced with an interesting problem. Eli Pace the local sheriff brings an injured wolf to her, well it is a werewolf and she has been shot. An interesting thing is that she hasn't shifted to her human form, and Eli is concerned. Did I mention that Eli is
also a shifter, a werelion! One of the many Others who live in this small community. Within hours, a mystery is taking over the lives of all the Others in this small town, and Josie & Eli are in the middle of it. Great story, it a "can't put it down" type of book.

Great book number 15 in the series, Josie the vet has to take care of lupines that are turning more wolf then man and found out there is a virus that makes the lupines this way. Eli the town sheriff finds an injured and dying lupine in the woods and brings her to the vet and he falls for the vet at first sight. When the mate to the injured lupine has come forward to id the wolf and refuses to leave, he shifts and that's when all hell brakes loose form that time on wards. Josie and Eli has to figure out the outbreak that is affecting the lupines, but in the process there is a burglar that has attempt an attack on Eli and now there is a new strand of the virus that will affect felines and it did with the lupines.
