Meet C.I. Syn: thief, smuggler, ex-convict, surgeon, robotics expert, crackpot software hacker (a.k.a. filch), art Connoisseur, tortured soul and of course, sex fiend.
Then there is Shahara Dagan: poor, caretaker for her no-good family, poor, galactic police officer/bounty-hunter (a.k.a. Seax), poor, tortured soul, stricken with poverty.
As the story goes, he is a bad, bad boy who make million$ doing his bad, bad things; she is a poor do-gooder wanting to get some ka-chink to get her sister medical treatment, so off she goes to capture him and his bad, bad self. As is the way in romance novels, things are not what they seem (gasp!!), and though he is a bad bad boy, he has reasons to be such because of course, fate had dealt him a really bad, bad hand.
The boy rose from the ashes of despair like a phoenix from the flames and now is a much-sought-after commodity. There are starships battles and friends from the earlier novel drop in to save the day and of course the villain who-does-not stop.
On the other hand, the theme of 'What CI Stands For?' thru the book is very funny.
It was a good ride but not a keeper.

I love Kenyon, but I just don't love this series. I loved Sin, but other than that I was left empty. This book couldn't keep my attention, I kept putting it down. I felt the same way about the first book in this series. Therefoer if you liked the first one, you will probably like this one as well. As for me, I am not even reading the third one--in which I have already bought.

I had been wanting to see if there was a book out for this character and i was not disappointed in this book. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing and this book captured my interest from page one.

Better than book 1 - roller coaster ride
The story line is edgy, on the edge and keeps you turning pages.
I enjoyed reading the first League book, Born of Night. I had trouble reading this one. Not because I disliked the hero, I love Sin. He is such a golden retriever being forced to perform like a killer pit bull - but the warm, caring, save-the-world pup is still inside... The heroine on the other hand did all the wrong things for what she thought [and didn't bother to find out differently] were all the right reasons. Essentially I felt Sin deserved better, MUCH better.
I'll keep reading the series but hopefully the next one will have both a hero AND a heroine I can love.
League
1. Born of the Night (1996)
2. Born of Fire (2009)
3. Born of Ice (2009)
4. Fire and Ice (2001)

Great action
very good book. i love the series.
Not true continuation of the First book. Has the same characters and some of the same storylines. I enjoyed this book and the third one also. I know there is some romance in this sci-fi book or some sci-fi in this romance book but I enjoyed any way.
Sherrilyn is my favorite author...nuff said.
This is a wonderful series...I'm a fan of all of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, but this series was especially fun to read. Lots of dark, sarcastic humor.
Not as good as her other series.
I love all of SK's books. I prefer the Dark Hunter series, but these League books are really good too. I really like Shahara as a strong female lead character.
I'm so over this author. We know the tortured hero is a common trope for romance, but this woman goes overboard. This is the third of her novels I've read where the hero is a victim of vicious sexual assault and exploitation as a child. At least this one wasn't as graphic about it as her book "Styxx", but still. Child sexual assault is not a plot device. There are other ways to create a tortured hero.
It was a really good story but it was a bit much. But over all I like it.
Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favorite authors and she definitely comes through again with this book. Her characters are well discribed so each book takes on its own story.
