Two brothers with nothing to do decide to build a plane. They borrow wheels from the baby's carriage, rope from their mother's clothesline, the engine of their father's car... and much, much more. The plane takes off like magic. But oh, what a surprise is left behind!

This is a delightfully illustrated book about two brothers who are bored and are sent out of the house by their mother. When they spot a propeller in the barn, they get inspired to scavenge all manner of items from inside and outside of the house. They manage to get their plane off the ground for an amazing ride, which ends too soon when their parents discover many missing items, then find their sons soaring above them. Peter Spier's detailed illustrations make the simple text come to life in this book that the whole family will enjoy.
