I highly recommend this wonderful Medieval Scottish romance, set in 1375. The drama and conflict are heart-wrenching ...and when the conflict IS between them it is utterly believable & understandable. Even the ending has just the right kiss of realism to make us scream for more, and the secondary characters in this story are distinct and 'real', not just room decoration.

I couldn't put it down. I love how you are magically transported to another time and place with her descriptions.

This was a fun, fast read from a wonderfully talented author. Jemmy Kirallen is pledged to be wed to the daughter of Lord Darnley--or so he thinks. Turns out Darnley is a cheat, and marries off his bastard daughter, Alison, in his legal daughter's stead. Will war erupt between the already-hostile Darnley and Kirallen families? And what of Alison and Jemmy? This was a fabulously fun book from an author I look forward to reading again--I was glad to see that LAIRD OF THE MIST, the story of Jemmy's blacksheep relative Alistair Kirallen, will be out soon.
