I loved this book, about halfway through I just couldn't out it down. This is an excellent historical fiction that takes place in England in the 1700s, following a young girl on a journey she did not expect to take. It's got beautiful descriptions through the main character's eyes of everything she sees and thinks. I enjoyed learning about the fireworks trade that she stumbles into as well. It wasn't so complicated that a non-chemist like myself didn't understand. The ending was not how I thought it would turn out at all either, which was another pleasant surprise.
