AMAZING book, but this is book 3 in the series. You must read them in order. I somehow ended up with two copies of this book and that is the only reason I'm getting rid of it. The quartet will remain in my library.
Well thought out and written, all characters have depth and continuity, as does the story. Good for all ages. (I found in the teen section, but read it for the first time at 35 yrs old and usually re-read the series every few years.

Paia was unlike Erde and N'doch. She knew her dragon for many years and thought of him differently than the other dragon guides. Fire taught her what he considered "her place" in "his" world. This is another great read with Paia learning and discovering all is not what it seems to be.

This series is getting better and better. I really enjoyed this book, the endings are so great! I'm really looking forward to reading the last one. Erde has turned into a stronger person, and it made me laugh when she first met Paia and Erde comments on how weepy and whiney Paia is, when not to long ago Erde was the same way. I enjoy how different this series it. Yes, it has dragons, yes... it has a quest, but they really didn't know what it was until this book. The book is also about the envronment and how much man abuses it. This book takes place about 200 years from now, and it is during an apoclypse. Great stuff! This series would make a great movie!
