Another in the Alex Delaware series. This time a woman's body is found in a marsh. While checking the crime scene three more bodies are discovered. While fear of a serial killer runs through LA Milo Surgis , a new colleague named Moses Reed and our good doctor try to discover what links all the the dead women. They soon have a good suspect but anyone who knows him swears the odd man is no killer. Who is right? Then a wealthy man and his family disappear. Is the disappearance tied to the murders? A cracking good story with a surprise ending.

An interesting read, but not one of Kellerman's best Alex Delaware novels. If you're looking for a lot of action, twists and turns, you'll likely be dissapointed. But if you're needing another Alex Delaware fix, this will hold you over until the next one.

It's a definite improvement over previous books. Characters are more interesting, Alex isn't so morose, the crime itself a tad more intriguing. Sometimes, it feels like Kellerman is playing too much with side characters, like he wonders if they're worth getting their own stories, and while I felt that here, I didn't resent it as much as I have in the past. I buy the Delaware books because I adore Alex and especially Milo. I don't really have the need to explore other possible good guys, because they're usually just not as interesting. He finally seemed to tap into some that might be worth following, however, which for me is enough to give me hope that the books themselves are returning to the exciting reads I remember.

Not one of the best in the series, but stronger than the ones previous to it. I'm still invested, and if it continues like this, will go back to buying hardcover.

Usually, Mr. Kellerman's novels are fast-paced, but it took me about half-way through this one to really get into it. Then it started getting better, but it's not one of his better ones.

Dark story of butchered women. It was a little too much detail for me as Mr. Kellerman is wont to do. This would be a great book for those of you who like the macabre.
