Excellent story. Suspenseful. The Christian message often found obvious in Ted Dekker's novels is more subdued in this story as it was in Three, and a couple other books. Definitely a good read with the excellent writing skills I have learned to expect from Ted Dekker. It did not, however, leave me with the awe of God that his other more obvious stories invoke, but a good read none-the-less.

One by one the bones break beneath his expert hands. Hes done this many times before. They dont call him the BoneMan for nothing. Its not that he wants to kill them necessarily, they just dont meet up with the standards hes set for the perfect daughter. And thats all he wants. Someone to love him like he loves himself.

But in his pursuit for perfection, the BoneMan faces a formidable foe. Ryan Evans, father of the BoneMans latest victim, is not just going to let his daughter go. Having been subjected to seeing the same sort of torture as a POW in the War on Terror, Ryan can only imagine his daughter placed in that situation. He hasnt been a perfect father by any means; hed barely been a part of his daughters life. But that experience had brought him closer, made him want to reconcile with his daughter. And now that he was back, this monster had taken her from him, trying to make her his own daughter.
With the FBI thinking that Ryan himself is the BoneMan, he lashes out and goes vigilante. The battle between the Ryan and the BoneMan becomes personal. A war of two fathers in which one must fall.

Bonemans Daughters exhibits a depth and a breadth that is both heart-pounding and heart-stopping. It is page-turning and riveting. Be prepared for an intricately woven story that examines the depth of one fathers love. Prepare for 4.14.09, clear your schedule because youll not want to put this book down, calm yourself, keep the lights on, and enjoyfor behold, the BoneMan cometh.

I have a love/hate relationship with books. I love to read and get so lost in a book that it is so hard to put it down. I hate to read and get so lost in a book that I have to seek every possible chance to read just a bit more, just a bit longer. I HAVE to know what is going to happen next.

So I will tell you this....... Ted Dekker's "BoneMan's Daughters" is a huge hit with that love/hate relationship. It took me a little bit to get through the first 3 or 4 short chapters but once I did........ WOW! I was hooked to say the least. I wasn't 100% sure what was gonna happen next or if Ryan or the DA was "Boneman" or not. But, you MUST read to find out. It WILL be worth it. I think you will enjoy this book as I did.

This is the first Ted Dekker book I have read and I liked it. It was a bit confusing to follow at first, but then the backstory falls into place and the race is on. This story shows how parents can go wrong. And how one father can change and beat all odds to save his daughter. I wish the Boneman's identity hadn't been revealed so soon, but there was still alot of edge to this story. The BoneMan is twisted in ways that boggle the mind and his way of defeating those who he perceives have disappointed him are almost beyond imagination. There are a lot of characters in this book, not too many to overload the story, but enough to make it a multi layered one. Dekker's character development brings you to cheer for the good guy and wish death on the bad guy. Give it a try, it is a long book, but worth the effort.

I am a diehard Dekker fan and this just wasn't my favorite Dekker tale. Out there a bit like House, yet doesn't quite make the mark for me. I thought he was going in the direction of Three for a good part of the book...which made me disappointed. I was relieved that it didnt turn out that way. The book kept me interested, but just because I wanted to see where he was going to take the story. Overall Boneman's Daughers was a disappointment for me. Give me the Circle and Paradise novels any day!

I was really excited when I read the synopsis of this book however, it moved along at a snail's pace and I was very disappointed. The whole concept of the book based on a distant father who wants his young daughter back in his life and will do anything to get her back - which means rescuing her from a demented serial killer. Sounds like a good plot; but the background on the characters just didn't support it. I found it dull. However, I enjoyed the reader of the book and the voices he performed were very good. Scale of 1 to 10, 4.

This is suppose to be a Christian author...I only made it to the 2nd CD and the second time that the Lord's name was taken in vain and I shut it off. Very disappointed.

Ted Dekker is the master of crazy suspense. It's hard to imagine how a person can come up with something so twisted and yet something that makes perfect sense all at the same time, as well as coming up with such surprising endings. One of my favorite writers of all time.

When I first began the book I feared it was something I could not connect with... It wasn't long before I just could not put it down. The story lingers with you and keeps you in suspense, frustration and agony at times. I was surprised at the ending and kept replaying in my mind. Would definitely recommend this read!

I could hardly put the book down. I loved it. This is a totally new twist on the "serial killer" genre.

A great book--it makes you really understand a dad's protective love for his daughter and God's love for us.
