Good book if you're wanting just to see if this field might possibly interest you. Very short chapters - most are 2-3 pages - and a short book (137 pp)and not a lot of detail, but it does give one the idea of what it might be like to be The Bone Lady.

Mary Manhein shares stories from her work as a forensic anthropologist ove teh last two decades. She gives the fascinating details of each case adn how she can assess age, sex, race, signs of trauma, time of death, and how she can even use clay to re-create a face. She writes with humor and compassion, making this book a very interesting and enjoyable read.

Well written and interesting book describing cases solved by a forensic anthropologist. A series of CSI-light summaries giving a birds eye view of the techniques and practices of a forensic anthropologist.
By describing cases you get interesting insights into what you can learn from bones - answeres to questions like How do you tell if it was a man or a woman. How do you determine the age? How can you tell the race. How do you know it is not an animal?

Interesting book, chapters are very short and a little lacking on detail so a bit unsatisfying.
