Hannah Swensen is in the process of baking up a storm at the shop she owns, The Cookie Jar in preparation for Lake Eden, Minnesota's Winter Carnival. Connie Mac the star of a very popular cooking show requests the use of her kitchen for baking the official Winter Carnival cake.
Connie Mac is very manipulative and bad tempered in real life. She has many people who are very outspoken in their dislike for her. She is found dead in The Cookie Jar the morning after she was to have baked the cake and the shop is closed as a crime scene. This leaves Hannah in a fix as she has promised to bake cookies for many of the winter display and warm up tents. She needs to solve this crime as soon as possible.

Much better than the corny title indicates. I'll read more of this series.

Murder never tasted so good! This mystery keeps you on your toes and the cookies just keep on coming! A fun read both ways. Hannah's family and friends are amusing and, as she discovers the unfortunate victims, she finds she has a talent for ferrting out the truth, despite hunky Mike's objections. Great read!

Celebrity Chef Connie Mac is in town for Lake Eden's Winter Carnival. She has been chosen to bake the official Winter Carnival cake and has asked to use Hannah Swensen's kitchen at The Cookie Jar to do the baking overnight. But when Hannah opens up in the morning, she finds Connie Mac dead in the pantry. The police quickly shut down The Cookie Jar because it is a crime scene. Hannah needs to find a place to finish baking her cookies for the various people who have ordered them for the carnival. Since Hannah can't get back into her bakery, she decides she must hurry up and solve this case so she can get her kitchen back soon. It won't be easy though. Connie Mac had a lot of enemies, including members of her staff and some people she came in contact with at Lake Eden.

This was an enjoyable mystery. There were several suspects to work through. I actually had no clue who the killer was, but I enjoyed this book anyway. Hannah is dating both Cop Mike and Dentist Norman. I wish she would decide which guy she is interested in. My rating: 4 Stars.
