My thinking for the greatest majority of the book was that the genre leant more toward the paranormal than my preference for an enjoyable read. However, the last twenty pages of the paperback were outstanding, and I was glad I was persisted in reading the paperback. After I finished the book, I had to thumb back through the book for all the indicators I missed. Besides the culminating events of the book, I also enjoyed the contrast the author noted between the main characters Dad and Grandpa (i.e., Gucci shoulder bag from Grandpa and a J C Penney handkerchief from Dad). If a reader enjoys a gothic where the one of the main elements of the story involve a house, dont pass this one up.
