From National Geographic Reading Expeditions. Wonderful book about the Civil War written in letter and journal form between the Shaw and Abbott families, both on opposite sides of the war. Includes a glossary, a map with states on either side shaded in different colors, text explaining the situations, and realistic-looking pictures and photos. A great learning resource for older kids and homeschooled children!

Ages 10 on up or so.
