I have not written reviews for all of Nora Roberts trilogies, but most all have something to do with the paranormal. I am not one for the paranormal. I really don't believe in it. But I must say, her trilogies, just pulled me into her books, after this particular series. They are all terrific. However, you always need to start with the first book. They usual all revolve around some type of relationships, which is different in each book and a some type of paranormal circumstance. It is interwoven together. I have read them all, except two sets, which I have already ordered through here and am anxious to get to them. They are beyond terrific. Nora Roberts really has a talent beyond belief. Some contain a little humor to help more the story line along. So basically, they are mystery, paranormal with a touch of humor. You will hardly be able to put the book down. You will not be disappointed. I would like to write this for all of hers, but maybe at a later time. Enjoy, if you decide this is something you would be interested in.

I really liked the characters and I was kept interested in the ghost story; wanting to read more to find out who she was and why she was there. I also liked how there were subplots that you can tell are going to be brought up in one of the next two books in this triology

I loved this book but I expected just as much from Nora Roberts! She's a wonder to her craft.

A Harper has always lived at Haper House, the centuries-old mansion just outside of Memphis. And for as long as anyone alive remembers, the ghostly Harper Bride has walked the halls, singing lullabies at night....
Trying to escape the ghosts of the past, young widow Stella Rothchild, along with her two energetic little boys, has moved back to her roots in southern Tennessee -- and into her new life at Harper House and the In the Garden nursery. She isn't intimidated by the house -- nor its mistress, local legend Roz Harper. Despite a reputation for being difficult, Roz has been nothing but kind to Stella, offering her a comfortable new place to live and a challenging new job as manager of the flourishing nursery. As Stella settles comfortably into her new life, she finds a nurturing friendship with Roz and with expectant mother Hayley. And she discovers a fierce attraction with ruggedly handsome landscaper Longan Kitridge.
But someone isn't happy about the budding romance... the Haper Bride. As the women dig into the history of Harper House, they discover that grief and rage have kept the Bride's spirit alive long past her death. And now, she will do anything to destroy the passion that Logan and Stella share....

The Harper family increases in size by a 'stray' pregnant distant cousin and a newly hired "Yankee" manager, both starting new lives over. Their integration into the Harper home is complicated by a ghost who seems to love children but dislikes men. When the ghost becomes more volatile, everyone's lives are affected. Book One of the IN THE GARDEN SERIES. Great romance.

This book being the first of a trilogy, hooks you into wanting more, why after so many years has the ghost come bake to this house . What does she want and is love finally going to live in this house again,or are flowers and plants going to be the only lovely things to grow in the nursery and on the grounds of this home? I suggest that if you are going to read this book that you get the other two of this trilogy, you will not want to wait for the next one and the next one.VERY GOOD.

This book is about Stella Rothchild, who's a widow with two young boys and decides it's time for a change for her and her boys. She gets an opportunity to work for Roz Harper at In The Garden, a nursery in Memphis, TN. Part of the agreement concerning her new position is to live with Roz in her huge estate, Harper House. While adjusting to her new position, her new home, and new friends, she also finds herself dealing with The Harper Bride, a ghost out for retribution. If all this isn't enough, she finds herself falling in love with the headstrong Logan Kitridge. Stella, being the strong and determined woman she is, finds a way to protect what's hers. Book One of the In the Garden Trilogy - EXCELLENT!! Loved these books!

Flower metaphors run amok in this first installment of Roberts's newest trilogy, which focuses on a quaint nursery called In the Garden and the haunted estate neighboring it. The book starts out at a plodding pace, with the sudden death of Stella Rothchild's beloved husband and her subsequent move, with her two young boys, from Michigan to the outskirts of Memphis. Fortunately, the pace picks up after Stella plants her roots at Harper estate and secures a job managing In the Garden, which is owned by Roz Harper, the same blunt, self-assured woman who presides over the estate. Though strictly regimented Stella forms a fast friendship with Roz, she clashes with Logan Kitridge, the nursery's sexy landscape designer. Logan is the antithesis of Stellabrash and impulsive, he thrives on chaosbut their enmity inevitably gives way to love. The scenes between them crackle with wit, charm and sexual tension, and are rivaled only by the warm relationships that develop among Stella, Roz and Hayley, a distant relative of Roz's who comes to the estate seeking a fresh start. Less effective is a subplot involving a ghost who doesn't seem to approve of Stella's relationship with Logan. This thread provides a few spooky moments, but it would have been more effective without the prologue's clichéd setup. While this book isn't vintage Roberts, it's a promising start to a new series.

Stella Rothchild loves everything about her new job as manager of In the Garden nursery. She appreciates her new, no-nonsense boss, "Roz" Harper, and she doesn't even mind living with Roz at Harper House, despite the fact that the ghost of the "Harper Bride" reportedly haunts the historic mansion. When a young and pregnant Hayley Phillips, a distant relative of Roz's, shows up at Harper House, she becomes a valued friend. The only thing Stella doesn't like about her situation is the ruggedly sexy yet completely annoying landscaper, Logan. Despite Stella's best efforts to develop a professional working relationship with him, he seems to have little time and no patience for her efforts to reorganize the nursery. Then Logan completely disrupts Stella's careful plans for her future by asking her out. Roberts, the queen of romance, launches a new trilogy with a captivating tale in which her considerable talents at creating richly compelling characters and witty, spellbinding stories come into full bloom in a paranormal-tinged romance.

Stella Rothchild moved to Tennessee after losing her husband in a plane crash. She and her two boys, Gavin and Luke, are looking to start fresh in a new place.

What Stella didn't count on are the amazing friends she'll meet in Rosalind (Roz) Harper, Hayley Phillips, and her unborn child, David Wentworth, and Harper Ashby, Roz's son. She also didn't count on meeting Logan Kitridge.

Stella's new job as Roz's nursery manager is working great, even though she and Logan, Roz's landscape designer seem to be bumping heads at every turn. But all of a sudden, things start to heat up between her and Logan, and those feelings stir something malevolent within Harper House, the manor that Roz lives in, and that Stella moved into as part of her employment agreement.

Will this malevolent presence keep two people apart? Guess you'll just have to read it and find out!

Blue Dahlia is book one of Ms. Roberts' In the Garden trilogy. It is my second favorite trilogy by Ms. Roberts. As always, Ms. Roberts is a great writer. Her characters are all very down to earth, and feel real. You feel yourself getting caught up in their lives, and you actually begin to care about what happens to them.

This book series has a bit of suspense/mystery to it that begins to reveal itself more in the next book, Black Rose. But the mystery is present in this book as well.

Since this is a romance novel, the sweet part of the romance makes you want to melt, and the hot side of the romance is HOT. But, I was reading these books in Jr. High, with my mother's approval, because Ms. Roberts does very tasteful love scenes.

All in all, this is a great introduction to the In the Garden trilogy, and, if you've never read Ms. Roberts before, a great introduction to her books. Be sure to pick it up!

I delayed reading this book due to the gardening/flowers theme as that is just not my thing. I'm glad I finally picked this up though, as it is typical NR. Wonderful storyline, terrific characters and sweet romance. I honestly haven't read anything by Nora Roberts that I haven't liked. She is amazing!

This is the first novel of the In the Garden trilogy. Against the backdrop of a house steeped in history and a thriving new gardening business, three women unearth the memories of the past and uncover a dangerous secret. The book contains everything . . a young widow and mother of two young children looking for a fresh start; a budding romance; even an unhappy ghost thrown in to cause some trouble. It's an easy and entertaining read.

After the death of her husband, Stella Rothschild takes her two sons and moves to Memphis to be near her father. She quickly lands a job at a local Garden Nursery owned by Roz Harper, with the agreement that she and her boys move into Roz's house so she can get to know her better. Stella loves her job and loves living in Harper House with just a few exceptions. First, the house is haunted by a ghost. The second exception is Logan Kittridge, Roz's landscaper. Stella and Logan do not see eye to eye on how she manages the business. As they work together, sparks fly, and their attraction grows. Everyone senses the change in their relationship, including the ghost...who is not pleased.

I haven't read a Nora Roberts trilogy in a long time, so I thought I'd give this one a try. As usual, the characters are likeable, and the romance is appealing. The author has done her homework and there are lots and lots of references to gardening and plants. I was bored with that information. (I certainly do not have a green thumb.) Usually, I don't care for the paranormal aspects of Nora's books, but I actually liked this one. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Harper Ghost in the next book. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

Young widow Stella, along with her two boys, moved back to her roots in southern Tennessee. She has a new life at Harper House and the In the Garden nursery. I really enjoyed this book for what it was. :)
I normally pick up Nora Roberts when I want a comfortable, cozy read with a lush feeling surrounding it due to the settings she places her trilogies in. I love Nora Roberts descriptions and geological settings for her trilogies because they are always so rich and make me want to hop into a flowery bubble bath. I really enjoyed reading about the gardening and flower shop, as well as the Harper ghost, but as usual and predicted, the romance was corny. I had to stop and read a few corny lines to my SO because it was too funny.
