I really enjoyed this book. The author writes very well. I especially liked that her personal stories & experiences were interwoven with the stories of her patients. It gives a good glimpse into some of the workings of a healthcare practice.

Great memoir.

I am rather ambivalent about this book. Author comes off as kind of whiny and I got really tired of reading about her problems sleeping. On the other hand, this is also a very honest memoir of being a woman, a midwife, a mother, a mate and a doctor's wife. There are compelling tales of her patients woven between the aspects of her life and that is what kept me reading.

This book grabbed me within the first couple of pages. Its main character was so well developed that I felt I had known her all my life and the stories that she told were intriguing and believable. Absolutely loved it!

This book was so fascinating to me. Not only I got to learn the insides of a doctor's office. But the author's patient's lives were riveting to me. I wanted to know what happens with this patient or how the author handles a certain situation. It's an awesome book and will keep you hooked, I recommend it!
