This book is the third in the Blood series (previous books Blood Dreams and Blood Sins)featuring the Bishop Crime Unit. I loved this book. I especially liked Hollis Templeton, the special agent who is the star of this book. I enjoyed the bond she experienced with male agent, Reese DeMarco and the unexpected nature of their connection. This book continues the Unit's search for a psychic serial killer that is killing people in several southern states. What made this book so interesting was that the crimes were all tied in to previous crimes in numerous past novels of Kay Hooper. That raised the stakes for the crime unit since they knew that they were dealing with a diabolical killer who had studied their past cases. This book was GREAT. I read it in one day.

I thought Book 2 was a bit more intense, but this book was enjoyable. Overall theme of couples getting together with an overlay of paranormal sleuthing.

Another chilling episode with the FBI agent Bishop's Special Crimes Unit in charge of strange or possibly paranormal mayhem... Sent shivers down my spine!

From back cover:
It starts with an unspeakable series of grisly murders across three states, a trail of blood leading, finally, to the small Tennessee town of Serenade. There, two more brutal killings lure the SCU into what may be the ultimate trap.

One of the first investigators on the scene, Special Agent Hollis Templeton, is willing to push herself as hard and as far as necessary. Risking more than her life to help and protect her SCU colleagues, Hollis must cope with her own psychic abilities, which are evolving in unprecedented ways, an attraction to the most complex man shes ever known, and a serial murder investigation that turns very, very personal.

In her time with the SCU, Hollis has shown an uncanny ability to survive even the deadliest attacks. But what she cant know is that this killer intends to destroy the team from within.

The clock is ticking. The body count is rising. And as Bishop and his agents race to uncover the true identity of their enemy, not even their special senses can warn them just how bloody, and how terrifyingly close, the truth will be.

Third in the Blood series, another in the Bishop Crime Unit. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, just like all the others. Kay Hooper does a good job of developing the characters, plot and the bad guys. She keeps you guessing till the end and always throws in a little extra unexpected bit at the end. She is one of my favorite authors and can always be relied upon to provide a great read.
