This book was so much better than I though it would be. I enjoyed it and read it quickly. It was a different twist on the witch and hunter theme. I would recommend it to anyone. I ready the advance of the second one, Soul Magic, and it seems to be the same story but with the second hunter and witch characters so I probably won't read it. But this one was very enjoyable.

This is a great start to a new series. I kept looking at this book for awhile and I'm glad I finally gave in and got it. Since this is the 1st book there is a lot of information about the world that they are living in and the in's and out's the good, the bad & the ugly, but I didn't find it overwhelming, the author paced the story well and doled out the info well.
Axle & Darcy make for a good 1st of the series couple ~ Axle is the uber alpha male who has quite a few issues to deal with being a witch hunter and has to try to learn to trust in someone who he has no reason to trust. Darcy is an independant woman but wounded and is trying to live her life in the best way possible, and finds who she really is by being thrown into a totally unbelievable situation. The world that the author has created I found interesting and realistic.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and seeing what happens to the rest of the Wing Slayers. And seeing as how there will probably be quite a few books in the series, it's probably safe to say that starting with the 1st one is recommended.

I don't usually go for witch series, but the reviews were so intriguing that I just had to give it a try. First impressions, I was a little confused about the core story and the initial "curse" that set this all in motion. The timeline threw me, because it only happened 30 years ago. And truthfully, the name "Wing Slayer" sounded like a heavy metal band, not a band of hunters created to protect the earth witches. BUT, I fell in love with it!! Axel and Darcy are a great couple, they have a passionate journey, filled with doubts, joys, and great sex. And the action keeps going and going. This book has great character development with all the characters. I couldn't put it down, stayed up just to finish it last nite. I don't think a book has triggered this much emotion from me in a long time, you want to cry a couple of times and then feel like clapping when everything goes right. I have already ordered book 2.

Darcy MacAlister is an earth witch fighting for her life, her man and a childs life. She is hunted for her blood and her witch powers by the rogue witch hunters who serve Quinn Young. She has been kidnapped by witch hunter (though not a rogue...yet), Axel Locke to cure his death cursed 4 year old sister, Hannah. During her imprisonment, they fall in love but, of course, try to resist each other. Darcy only has two weeks to find the cure before a demon witch must be sacrificed. If this happens, Axel will lose his soul and become a rogue.
The series is focused on the death curse which pits witch hunters against witches when in the past they fought evil side by side protecting mankind. A rogue hunter has caused the separation and revels in it with help from a three headed demon, Asmodeus. There are five hunters (Axel, Ramsey, Sutton, Phoenix and Kieran) who have pledged to fight the blood lust and refrain from killing innocent witches. I really liked Key (Kieran) as he is one of those badasses who is really a sweet guy underneath. He spends hours coloring with Hannah.
This is a great start to a new and different series. Soul Magic A Novel is the next book.
