Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this latest chapter in the tale of Lily and Rule. They continue working out how to balance his role as Rho of one clan, heir of a seconds and PR face for all lupi, her job with the FBI and the limitations that their mate bond places on them. There were a few times where they had to place what they thought was the right thing to do below what the other one needed to have happen, even though it could cause them problems.

More delightfully, Benedict, previously a supporting character, comes into the spotlight in this book, sharing the lead role with Rule, Lily, Cynna and Cullan. We get to learn a lot more about his past, especially what happened with his Chosen all those years ago.

I thought this tale was very well told. The level of conflict has been gradually increasing over this series, which makes the announcement by the Leidolf Rhej at the end of the book not much of a surprise.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I absolutely loved this book, mostly because there was so much Benedict and I adore him. I loved how quirky Arjeanie was (Benedict's new chosen).

It was also very action packed even with Lily being injured most of the book. It was a very quick read and kept me engaged all the way through.

My only complaint was that Lily and Rule are still not married yet.

Definitely read this series in order. Wilks did a good job with providing background so you don't necessarily have to read it in order but I think on an emotional level, the book is better if you have read the other ones.

Better than Feehan, better than Handiland...if you like paranormal, this is a series you MUST read. Outstanding characters, interesting plots...start at the beginning and you will be hooked.

An excellent mix of the major characters. All of them with substantial contributions to the story; Lily/Rule, Benedict and his new chosen Arjenie, Isen, Cullen/Cynna. You meet the other Lu Nuncios and learn more about another race (a new one :).

This is a banquet of characters in a world that's already becoming one of my favorites in fiction. They're smart, clever and sometimes devious; sexy and sometimes charming; loyal beyond expectation (mostly) true to their word - refreshingly three-dimensional. Wilks builds honest tension by putting her characters at risk and giving them (in this fictional world) believable reasons for their actions. I'm on the edge of my seat worried about my favorite peeps, knowing they could be hurt or killed at any moment. It makes for exciting reading. Whatever Wilks decides for these people, I'll be rooting all the way through. These characters are hard to forget once the book has been read.

Is it possible this is my favorite of the seven Lupi novels when the others are so good? I won't give anything away but the last sentence...wow. I cannot wait to find out what happens next. I'm hooked on this series!

This book was very hard to put down, and was nice and long with a lot of unpredictability. this is the 7th of an ongoing story so please don't start with this book but with the first.
