I was little worried--I might be overloaded with stories about dizzy blondes, but not to worry--the heroine here is both amusing and competent (except in matters of the heart). Even this middle-aged old grandpa enjoyed the story, as did my lawyer wife. Some delightful characters make this a good story.

Took about 100 pages for the book to get beyond silliness and start moving.

December Vaughn leaves her corporate law practice in Ohio to open up her own office in Florida. The first major case she takes on involves faulty insulin which caused the death of her client's wife. Despite a variety of obstacles and interesting turns of events ( her furniture not being delivered, a hunky PI, a new puppy, two very strange employees and a variety of threats against her), December triumphs. Humorous at times, a little anti-climatic at the end and not much mystery- but fun to read.

December Vaughn is tired of her roots. Not the ones in her hair---she is a real blonde after all--but her life in Ohio as a corporate attorney. She's used to turning heads, but now it's time to turn her life around. And what better way to prove all those dumb-blonde jokes wrong than by opening up her own practice in Florid? She's going to take the Sunshine State by storm....

Soon, she's hired by a man whose wife died because of defective insulin. Now, the drug company and its ruthless lawyers are doing anything in their power to derail the case--and December. It's enough to give a girl split ends.

Luckily her over-the-top office manager, a card-sharp housewife, and a drop-dead gorgeous P.I. are on her side. Because December Vaughn may have parted ways with her old life, but she's not about to give up her new one without a fight....
