One thing about the 'older' books such as 'The Blind Colt' by Glen Round and books by Sam Savitt, is they never go out of style. I read this book as a child and enjoyed it just as much as an adult. The humans in the story are stereotypical, but the story is really about the colt, not the humans. The blind colt's spirit shines through each trial as he struggles to survive in a sighted world. I found myself cheering and crying for him alternatively as he sought his true place in the world.
