This is the third in the second McKaslin Clan series. I didn't like this one as much as the others. It became predicatable and the middle wasn't very strong. Yet, if you have read the others I would read this one just to have read the entire series.

When waitress Rachel McKaslin reluctantly let Jake McCall move into the apartment above her family's diner, she never dreamed the handsome tech sergeant would be so charming. Soon into their joyful courtship, Jake surprised her by proposing. Now, Rachel prayed their union wasn't just a convenience and that Jake truly loved her.
Jake had promised his dying brother he'd care for his little girl, so he needed a wife. But as he wed this beautiful woman and brought her home, he realized his feelings didn't stem from duty. He loved Rachel McKaslin fiercely. Would God's providence enable him to survive his dangerous assignment and return to confess his true feelings?

Rachel is one of the McKaslin sisters in series two. A handsome sergeant, who is also her brother's friend, meets and is attracted to Rachel's beauty and her down-home personality. After a whirlwind courtship, he proposes and Rachel is skeptical of his love. Does he need a wife or a mother for the niece he is taking care of?

I enjoyed "Blessed Vows". I haven't read other books in the series, but still enjoyed this book. The main character was very appealing, and as a reader, I was able to connect with her. I was a bit surprised in the latter pages of the book, when one of the characters, Paige, seemed to behave inconsistently with what I knew about her. She made an about face in her opinion and attitude. That was a bit disconcerting. I thought the book ended to abruptly, but perhaps the next book in the series will follow up the story.
